About our Kennels & Service…
- Just because we are closed it doesn’t mean that we are not working away with your dogs, whether walking, playing or just sitting with them in their kennels, it is important to us as to give them the best possible stay and comfort, they will get the human interaction that is as much a part of our routine as it would be yours and also the space that’s needed
- Each kennel block has had new heating and air conditioning installed to ensure the dogs are comfortable in all weather, as well as individual heating lamps in each kennels as a boost if needed for smaller pets or as required.
- Our kennels are alarmed with perimeter sensors and well as every door and entry gate locked
- There is always a member of staff on site, so if your worried about you loved one during their stay some one is always on hand to reassure you and let you know they are all ok and enjoying their stay
- Staff do not change so dogs don’t have other people to get used to this will make it less stressful for any long term boarders and anyone who finds the kennel experience stressful
- You can bring as much or as little as you want for your dogs stay, whether it’s certain toys, bedding or even food although we do have everything on site it’s always nice for them to have a little reminder of home
- We are happy to administer any medicine that will be needed during their stay with us,we just ask that it’s clearly marked and labelled
Staying with us…
- Beds are supplied as well as bedding,we don’t use plastic beds as find these get chewed up quickly, our beds are a solid make and keep your dog off the floor, each are lined with vet bed and add more blankets if needed, all of which are changed on a regular basis during their stay with us , if you still want to bring their own bed for comfort and familiarity we can remove these at your request.
- Dogs are walked at least twice a day on lead DOGS ARE ALWAYS DOUBLE LEADED FOR EXTRA SAFTEY
WE DONT MIX DOGS FROM DIFFERENT HOMES TOGETHER,EACH KENNEL ARE WALKED SEPARATELY AND PLAY SEPARATELY,THIS WILL ELIMINATE ANY RISK TO YOUR DOG IF THEY DON’T GET ALONG
The Boarding Day…
- Kennels are cleaned inside and out during morning and evening feeds and as required throughout the day
- Lead Walks are usually started at 9am and again at 1pm as well as having time in the secure paddocks throughout the day as well as time in their kennel,As the months turn warmer their kennel door will be left open into their personal run giving the option or laying out all day in the sun or being inside with a breeze
- We have 2 enclosed grass exercise areas which is enough to chase a ball and stretch their legs or just have a wonder and take in the day
- The radio is kept on 24 hours a day for comfort as is recommended by animal behaviourists.
We want to give your loved one the best stay possible the more information you can give us will aid to their Stay, we want to know as much as we can about them that will help us look after them, what they like and dislike, maybe they don’t like men, they are nervous,or just unsure about spending time with other animals, whatever it is just let us know. We want your dog boarding experience to be a pleasant one with us at Old Park Kennels.
